West Highland European Leader Kist (WHELK) was a partnership of public and community agencies set up to deliver the LEADER+ programme in the west coast of Scotland.
The two main themes of the programme were: making best use of natural and cultural resources and improving the quality of life in rural areas.
The programme, which ran from 2002-2006, supported over 240 community groups, voluntary organisations, micro & small businesses with grant aid of up to 45% of total project costs.
